Position Overview: The position of a Bridges/Structures Diver is a position that works below surface of water, using underwater gear to inspect, remove or install equipment and structures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Check and maintain diving equipment such as helmets and diving suits.

  • Carry out non-destructive testing such as crack inspection on bridge piling, as well as other underwater condtruction activities.

  • Experience is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

•Attention to Detail•Ability to understand and follow oral instructions and effectively communicate with supervisors, co-workers and the public•Able to comply with all safety policies and procedures and OSHA regulations•Able to comply with all company policies and procedures•Ability to travel and work overtime (including nights and weekends) when required•Must have a strong work ethic•Valid driver’s license, preferred•Must be able to pass a pre-employment and random drug screen.

Physical Demands: The physical demands below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.•Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds•Able to stand, kneel, squat, bend, push, pull, climb, and stretch regularly while performing the essential functions of the job•Able to push and pull with hands and arms and move repetitively•Able to be alert and cognitive of multiple concurrent activities of the construction site, including awareness of other employees, subcontractors, machinery, equipment, and moving traffic when applicable•Able to work around loud noises•Coordination between hand, eyes, feet to guide tools, equipment and objects is required•Ability to walk and work on uneven terrainEnvironmental Working Conditions•All work is performed outside in heat, cold, and inclement weather.•Exposure to all elements of nature•Exposure to all types of terrain•Exposure to loud noise•Exposure to fumes, odors, gasses, dusts, etc.•Work in close proximity to heavy traffic
