Acadia Healthcare Certified Medical Assistant in Wilmington, North Carolina
Description
ESSENTIAL TASKS/RESPONSIBILTIES:
Prepare and assist patients for medical examinations and procedures.
Take vital signs, such as temperature, blood pressure, heart rate, and weight.
Perform basic laboratory tests (e.g., blood draws, urinalysis).
Administer injections and vaccinations as directed by the physician.
Record patient history as well as any current concerns, and document all pertinent health information.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Completion of formal medical assisting training that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools
Basic understanding of pharmacology and medication administration techniques.
Previous experience in a behavioral health setting preferred.
Knowledge and experience working with the population of the facility preferred.
Certification as a Medical Assistant
CPR, first aid, and de-escalation certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
