Chemours is seeking a Pressure Vessel / Fixed Equipment Mechanical Engineer to join our growing Engineering Technology team! This position will report directly to the Engineering Technology Senior Manager at our Wilmington, DE location.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provide pressure vessel and fixed equipment mechanical engineering consulting services to Chemours global chemical businesses, including technical support to plant operations and capital projects.

  • Provide support for the following activities: post-construction support (e.g. inspection recommendation/evaluation, repair and alterations development/review, Fitness For Service analysis/review, etc.), equipment design, project support, oversight of fabrication activities, supplier identification, maintenance and development of engineering standards, and technical training programs.

  • Network with company resources and cross-functional teams to achieve timely solutions to business problems.

  • Manage a high number of simultaneous projects and programs with varying complexity, priority, and timing. Proactively support efforts independent of supervision.

  • Required travel: Approx. 10%-25%

The following is required for this role:

  • BS or higher in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.

  • 5 – 15 years of experience in the Chemical Process or related Industries.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, ASME Piping Codes, API Codes and Standards, and NBIC.

  • Able to provide Post Construction support for Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers, and Storage Tanks. Examples of support includes Fitness For Services assessments, Repair and alteration plan development and execution, and Suitability For Service assessments.

  • Ability to provide operating and maintaining support including planned or emergency repair at our global sites and repair facilities.

  • Knowledge of related plant operational practices such as Process Safety Management, mechanical integrity, and reliability engineering.

  • Experience with the design, optimization, and best practices for bolted flange joints, including leak tightness criteria.

  • Experience with engineering software (COMPRESS, INSPECT, PVElite, Code Calc, PRG suite, NozzlePro, etc..).

The following is preferred for this role:

  • Involvement in technical societies.

  • Knowledge of non-metallic equipment calculation, design, and fabrication in accordance with ASME Section X and ASME RTP-1.

  • Knowledge in the specification, design, and application of mechanical components across a wide variety of chemical processes.

Pay Range (in local currency):

$105,280.00 - $164,500.00

Annual Bonus Target:

11%

The incentive pay is dependent on business results and individual performance and subject to the terms and conditions of the specific plans.
