Verdantas is seeking a Laboratory Intern. This position will be located in Wilmington, DE .

Key Responsibilities

• Perform geotechnical laboratory analysis at our on-campus laboratory. Testing will include moisture content, grain size distribution, hydrometer analysis, Atterberg limits, and proctor testing (Standard and Modified). Laboratory testing will contribute to on-going geotechnical evaluations or active construction projects.

• Perform concrete laboratory analysis at our on-campus laboratory. Testing will predominantly consist of compressive strength testing of concrete cylinders, grout prisms, and masonry cubes to assist with on-going construction activities.

• Perform daily Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) in our labs, which may include but is not limited to daily monitoring of equipment, test data, and sample inventory.

• Demonstrate a willingness to learn and an understanding of ASTM testing procedures.

• Demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment and collaborate effectively with colleagues.

• Assist in preparing deliverables for both the concrete and geotechnical laboratories.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Currently pursuing an associate's degree or bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Construction Engineering and Management

• Experience in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

• The position may include travel to client sites or fieldwork

• Previous engineering internship/Co-Op experience is a plus
