The Yard Attendant plays a vital role in the smooth operation and maintenance of yards or warehouse environments. They are responsible for inventory management, ensuring safe equipment handling, maintaining cleanliness, and coordinating with internal teams. Handling sorting, organizing, and transportation tasks are crucial to maintain overall yard efficiency.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the yard by sweeping, picking up debris, and arranging equipment and materials.
Assist contractors with loading and unloading of materials and equipment.
Perform routine safety inspections on equipment, such as checking fluid levels and tire pressure.
Keep track of inventory levels and notify management when supplies need to be replenished.
Operate forklifts and other equipment as needed to move materials and equipment around the yard.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies at all times.
Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and addressing concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Perform other duties as assigned by management, such as assisting with deliveries or helping with special projects.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, squat, or kneel regularly, and reach, to complete tasks.
Required to maintain body balance while ascending or descending the forklift, and to maintain body equilibrium while bending at the waist or at the knees. Ascending and/or descending from forklift throughout the shift will be routine.
Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
