CNC Mill Machinist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Machinist to set up and operate numerical control machines to cut, shape, or form metal workpieces to specifications. You will review setup sheets and specifications to determine setup procedures, machining sequences, and dimensions of finished workpieces. Responsibilities include attaching fixtures to machine beds, positioning and securing workpieces, assembling cutting tools, and entering commands to retrieve preprogrammed machine instructions. You will also observe machine operations, change cutting tools, measure workpieces for conformance to specifications, notify supervisors of discrepancies, and may adjust machine feeds and speeds as needed. Additionally, you may machine materials other than metal, instruct other workers, and use statistical process control techniques.

Must Haves

  • 3+ years of CNC mill experience

  • Machine with Makino Horizontal and Mori-Seiki Vertical Mills.

  • Must have experience with Fanuc Controls.

  • Understanding of G&M coding.

  • Read and interpret blueprints.

  • Utilize MANUAL inspection instruments to check parts (mics, cals, gauges, depth gauges)

Job Type

  • This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Environment

Current Openings: 2nd Shift - 1 Intermediate Mill Machinist

Hours: 4:30pm-1:00am. Overtime is not required, but encouraged.

Overtime would be 5 hours on Saturday and Sunday (Sunday is double time).

This is a mix of job shop and production machining center. The runs typically range from 20-70 pieces, with some orders exceeding 300 pieces. The parts are very complex and need to be within very close tolerances. Attire: Steel toe boots, safety glasses, and team uniform (provided).
