At this level the associate is responsible for learning the essential skills and knowledge of the job and is considered a learner. The Learner will be closely supervised during the initial training period, but is expected to become increasingly independent over a specified period of time. After the associates’ initial training period, the associate will be responsible for performing routine tasks/duties, recognizing problems, and knowing when to seek help.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Performs job functions per the trainer’s instructions.
Understands what role this job plays in the “general strategies” of the company.
Understands the safety and housekeeping standards in this area and performs daily and weekly maintenance on the equipment.
Operates the machine under normal conditions in the trainer’s absence using the following skills: Using necessary controls for operation, loading material, and proper handling of parts.
Understands shop math, basic print reading, and use of all gages required for current part including use of the comparator.
Performs the required in-process inspections.
Understands all major attributes of current part, including recognition of an abnormal part or abnormal equipment operation.
Understands the concept of daily documentation per production metrics and the need for waste reduction.
Understands the concepts of 5S visual displays and the metrics listed on the Primary Visual Display Board
Requests assistance in a timely manner.
Retains basic information related to the job.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Self-motivated and able to learn at a fast pace.
- Strong skills in basic math. Can add and subtract fractions and decimals
Takes personal responsibility for quality and fulfilling orders on time

Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements:
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
May be required to pass pre-employment and annual Vision Acuity tests
Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift Kegs and Boxes on a regular basis between 25 - 35 pounds and occasionally between 35 - 50 pounds. Considerable standing, stooping and bending is required.
