We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a General Maintenance Worker to support our CABHH and MSHS facilities in Willmar, MN
Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health Hospital (CABHH) delivers inpatient mental health services for children, adolescents, and young adults (ages 6-18) with serious behavioral and emotional conditions. Minnesota Specialty Health Services (MSHS) focuses on rehabilitative education, building interpersonal skills, and developing community engagement skills to increase each client’s independence and self-management of their illness, behavior, and emotion.
The General Maintenance Worker position exists to minimize risk of spread of infection; maximize safety for staff, patients, and visitors; and to maintain cleanliness and orderliness of areas managed by CABHH, Willmar and MSHS, Willmar.
Responsibilities Include:
Implement a routine program for cleanliness of building at the facility so that the Department of Health, OSHA, and facility standards are met and clients reside in a healthy and safe environment;
Maintain supply and equipment inventory so that automated or mechanical housekeeping tasks are performed efficiently and timely with the proper equipment;
Arrange for repair tasks as assigned throughout the facility as to maintain quality housekeeping services;
Provide a safe and secure facility so that patients receive quality professional services in a therapeutic environment that is safe for patient and staff.
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of:
Different types of flooring/floor covering sufficient to determine proper methods of maintenance and appropriate cleaning methods, materials, agents and equipment.
Chemical cleaning agents such as ammonia, bleaches, scouring agents and soaps sufficient to appropriately select the agent(s), handle and apply, and dispose of safely.
Methods, tools, and equipment used in maintenance sufficient to use effectively and operate safely and to make minor repairs.
Ability to:
Physical health and endurance sufficient to perform work functions
Follow simple oral and written instructions
Perform assigned tasks with limited work direction
Keep simple records
Possess and maintain a valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a hospital environment
Demonstrated ability to multitask
Ability to show strong communication skills
