UPMC Assessment Referral Coordinator - Behavioral Health - FT Nights in Williamsport, Pennsylvania

UPMC Williamsport has an opening for a FT Assessment Referral Coordinator to join the Behavioral Health team at Divine Providence Hospital!

This position will work 40 hours per week from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. and will be assigned a weekend rotation/two holidays per year.

Purpose:

Responds to requests from consumers, businesses and medical professionals for information about UPMC clinical services, community education programs, and insurance products. Facilitates referrals to UPMC physicians, services and programs. Documents all calls in a database. Provides general health information to callers as requested and assists Referral Specialists with assessments requiring clinical judgment.

Responsibilities:

  • Contacts third party payor to pre-authorize treatment.

  • Ensures complete and timely documentation of patient contacts.

  • Participates in Behavioral Health education and marketing efforts representing Behavioral Health in at least tow community-based activities annually.

  • Assesses and refers Behavioral Health clients to appropriate level of care in collaboration with psychiatrists, attending physicians and Emergency Department physicians.

  • Coordinates Behavioral Health services for patients within the department, other hospitaldepartments, physicians within the community, other service providers within the community, and other mental health facilities in a timely and helpful manner.

  • Provides education to referral sources about our services and ARC role.

  • Maintains statistical information as required by department.

  • Facilitates coordination of care through effective communication with referral sources, payers, and Behavioral Health agencies.

Master's degree in Human Services Field including but not limited to Psychology, Social Work, Marriageand Family Therapy, Counseling, or Rehabilitation.One year of experience preferred.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

  • Act 34
