Summary:

• Performs individualized, goal-directed nursing care through use of the nursing process and the principles of primary nursing in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures and Scope of Practice Guidelines.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities.
• This position may be asked to work at other NCCH-designated work location or sites as needed.

Reports to:

• Chief Nursing Officer (CNO)or designated administrator.

Education and/or Experience:

• Has completed the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program with an accredited school of nursing.
• Experience in hospital or healthcare setting, preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

• Current Unrestricted Arizona Licensed Practical Nurse License
• Current CPR Certification (through American Heart Association)

Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Thorough knowledge of Nurse Practice Act, and the nursing process and standards of care.
• Skills in basic nursing principles basic nursing care, and nursing documentation. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to prioritize and apply critical thinking skills.
• Knowledge of HIPAA privacy requirements and medical terminology.
• Establish and maintain solid working relationships through communication, cooperation, and positive interactions with all patients/clients, employees, staff, providers, and vendors.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule when circumstances necessitate.
• Demonstrated ability to self-motivate and work independently with limited supervision.
• Strong customer service skills along with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Positive communication skills; ability to successfully interact with all customers; continuous demonstration of courteous, cooperative and service orientated behavior.
• Supports and maintains a culture of safety, quality and positive patient experience.
