DESCRIPTION OF WORK Orientation and Mobility Interns are assigned reduced caseloads and have limited responsibility for expenditures, closures, and plans for instruction. Upon successful completion of the internship, interns are promoted to Orientation and Mobility Specialists performing the full range of duties. This includes providing orientation and mobility services to blind and visually impaired individuals to assist them in becoming more independent.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 37.5-hour work week Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with 30-minute lunch. You will have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Wilkes-Barre. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Current enrollment in the final year of an accredited college or university bachelor's or master's degree program or certificate program in orientation and mobility Necessary Special Requirement:

All candidates must have authorization by the college or university for the student to participate in the commonwealth's Orientation and Mobility Intern program. Upon entering the internship, the student must be enrolled in the final semester of the appropriate degree or certificate program

This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
