Job Summary

Geisinger is seeking a BC/BE EMS fellowship-trained Emergency Medicine physician to join the Emergency Medicine team at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre, PA.

Job Duties

This role will contribute to the growth of Geisinger’s EMS service by providing:

• EMS Medical Direction in Rural/Suburban setting

• Oversight for health system-owned EMS Agency as well as oversight with community partner EMS

• Critical Care Transport medical direction

• Special Operations EMS

• Special Event/Mass Gathering

• PSAP Medical Direction

• Tactical EMS

• EMS Education - Geisinger EMS Training Institute, Community Partners, EMS Apprenticeship. Also educational opportunities with the community college paramedic training institute.

• Potential core faculty opportunity with new EM residency program

• Clinical Emergency Medicine – provide care at both community ED and tertiary care ED

• Embedded, multi-disciplinary team of care managers and clinical pharmacists in emergency departments to create a holistic, streamlined process from triage to discharge

• Geisinger has produced and is still home to industry leaders in our specialty including state and national leaders in ACEP, PACEP, ABEM, EMS, Research, and Education
