Commonwealth of Pennsylvania County Casework Supervisor - Screening Unit in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania

Luzerne County has an immediate need for a County Casework Screening Supervisor in its Children, Youth, and Families agency. DESCRIPTION OF WORK This position is responsible for the supervision of the agency Intake/Screening functions reporting to the Social Service Coordinator or agency Administrator. The individual in this position will supervise six (6) Phone Screeners and one support worker. You will be responsible for providing direct oversight of intake and screening functions following all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, policies and procedures. Your duty will include providing, through individual and group supervision, information, clarification interpretation of regulation, training/education, support and guidance to the supervisees.  The supervisor in this role and their workers must conduct themselves in a manner consistent with the mission and vision of statements of the agency. Additionally, you will be responsible for: *Cases referred to the Agency during regular business hours. *Ensuring all referrals are acknowledged in a timely manner by the unit. *Processing referrals as screen outs, field screens, I&R, LEO, Supplemental, Secondary, CHS, and GPS/CPS intakes accepted for assessment. *Assigning a response time according to the 2020 GPS Bulletin. *Distributing the referrals directly to intake supervisors for assignment.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment

Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Two years of professional experience in public or private social work and a bachelor's degree with major course work in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or

Any equivalent combination of experience and education which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.
