Commonwealth of Pennsylvania County Casework Supervisor - Intake Unit in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania

Luzerne County has an immediate need for an Intake County Casework Supervisor in its Children, Youth, and Families agency. DESCRIPTION OF WORK This supervisor position is responsible for the overall operational planning, direction, supervision and coordination of Intake services. The individual in this position is responsible for the provision of supervisory oversight work assignment and work performance of the General Protective Services Intake Unit which includes five (5) caseworkers and a Social Service Support Worker. Each employee in the work unit has a regular scheduled supervisory conference as well as meetings on an as needed basis.

The supervisor is expected to have a working knowledge of all regulatory and policy, procedure mandates and maintains statistics as outlined in the Luzerne County Children and Youth Services Case Weight and Monthly Statistic Reporting Policy. This position monitors the effectiveness of services provided through statistics and log keeping and will inform the Social Service Coordinator of service delivery issues or needs. Other requirements include but not limited to frequent and regular review and analysis of case records, evaluation of staff performance, participation in planning and providing in-service training activities to meet the training needs of the workers and disseminating new/updated regulations and policies.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment. Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Two years of professional experience in public or private social work and a bachelor's degree with major course work in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences;or Any equivalent combination of experience and education which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.
