The Opportunity

This position works out of our location in Wiesbaden (Abbott GmbH) in the Abbott Diabetes Care division that is focused on helping people with diabetes manage their health with life-changing products that provide accurate data to drive better-informed decisions.

What You’ll Do

  • Driving and coordinating all efforts to select, establish and launch co-operations with external partners both at product and software as a service level.

  • Continuous assessment of the overall business development, future trends, and competitive landscape.

  • Lead efforts on bringing the EMEAP/global contracts to life in the EMEAP affiliates by driving country launch readiness and ensuring executional excellence (e.g., best practices sharing)

  • Work with the senior strategic partnerships manager, global business development and the legal department on negotiation of EMEAP-wide term sheets and contracts with partners

  • Select potentially interesting partners, prepare business case and any required internal documentation to obtain approval to work on a cooperation. Advise EMEAP affiliates if they seek to establish local partnerships.

  • Act as point of contact for all internal stakeholders (partner, global BD, EMEAP marketing & commercial, EMEAP affiliates), where marketing remains responsible for co-promotional activities.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Relevant business, legal, or life-sciences university degree

  • At least 5 years of previous relevant experience within the medical device or pharmaceutical industry

  • Experience in product launches

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trustworthy relationships with internal and external stakeholders and across all organizational levels.

  • Excellent project management skills to ensure a smooth launch execution across EMEAP and with different external partners.

  • Previous experience in business development and successful contract negotiation is preferred.

  • Knowledge in Health Care or MedTech or Pharma, ideally the Diabetes sector

  • Curious to discover new trends and getting to know new technologies.

  • Capability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment to deliver on communicated timelines and objectives.

  • Displays a desire for continuous learning and development, demonstrating potential for growth and capability of moving on to roles with extended responsibilities.

  • Must be fluent in written and spoken English. Knowledge of a second language is desirable.

  • The position requires the willingness to travel within Europe, Middle East & Africa and US (max 20%)
