POSITION SUMMARY
This position will be a team member in an academic setting to utilize not only nursing skills, but also assist to train future psychiatrists. The clinic provides services to a broad patient population from pediatric to geriatric age groups. Create positive relationships with patients, providers and staff. Opportunity to obtain many of the required CEUs to maintain current nursing license.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Manage nursing responsibilities regarding meaningful use guidelines
- Obtain and document vital signs in EMR
- Coordinate and triage outside communications/documents and patient phone calls/concerns to the provider & document in EMR
- Return all communications in a timely manner
- Coordinate and triage patient in-clinic and telephone crises.
- Provide patient educational materials as requested by providers
- Coordinate ECT treatment with patient, ECT provider, hospital and intake coordinator; maintain ECT records
- Coordinate Esketamine treatment with patient, Esketamine provider, and intake coordinator; maintain Esketamine records
- Coordinate, maintain records, and administer long acting injectable medication (LAI)
- Take verbal, written, or electronic orders from providers and document in EMR
- Assist with medication refill requests (e-prescribing, faxing or phone to pharmacy) including medication prior authorizations
- Help triage lab reconciliation, lab requisitions, and incoming medical records
- Prepare and send school medication forms
- Maintain sample medication cabinet in accordance with Federal and State laws
- Maintain injection supply and controlled medication safe in accordance with Federal and State laws
- Maintain licensing requirements in accordance with Federal and State laws
- Reliable Attendance and Punctuality.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education: Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required
Licensure: Current State of KS Nursing License & BLS Certification required
Experience: One to two years related psychiatric experience and injection experience preferred
