Overview of Position:TEC Systems Group is currently seeking an Estimator and Quoting Manager at our Wichita, KS location. The Estimator and Quoting Manager will be responsible for managing the entire proposal process, ensuring high quality and timely delivery of the final proposal. He/she will have direct responsibility for the technical content used in proposals to the client base primarily located in the United States. The successful candidate will have a strong automation background. An organized multitasker with the ability to drive projects to completion will thrive in this environment. This position will work closely with Sales and Project Management in a cross-discipline team.
Responsibilities
- Manage overall proposal content and process with a focus on ensuring overall quality from proposal kick-off to delivery
- Responsible for the preparation and presentation of quotes, sales proposals, and contracts to the customer in compliance with company policies and standards, obtaining the appropriated approvals
- Collaborate with Sales and Project Management to assess and respond to engineering, consulting, project, and support services opportunities
- Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors and exercises judgement in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
- Leading and/or assisting in the development of proposal documentation including manhour estimates, project execution plans, scope of work descriptions, schedule development, and other content
- Understand the customers application needs and be able to scope a conceptual design for the appropriate solutions
- Set and meet expectations to stakeholders in the proposal process
- Collaborate and communicate with sales managers and the customer to co-ordinate project plans and execution of proposals
- Design standards and proposal templates
- Develop preliminary bills and material
