Job Description

We are seeking an innovative and enthusiastic Middle School STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Teacher to inspire and empower students in their exploration of STEM concepts and skills. The Middle School STEM Teacher will be responsible for designing and implementing engaging, hands-on lessons that integrate science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to make a meaningful impact on students\' STEM education and future success.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a dynamic and interdisciplinary STEM curriculum that integrates science, technology, engineering, and mathematics concepts and skills.
  • Design and facilitate inquiry-based, hands-on learning experiences that engage students in the scientific method, engineering design process, and mathematical problem-solving.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, resources, and technologies to differentiate instruction and meet the diverse learning needs and interests of students.
  • Integrate real-world applications and current events into STEM lessons to demonstrate the relevance and importance of STEM concepts in everyday life and future careers.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create cross-curricular connections and promote interdisciplinary learning experiences.
  • Provide opportunities for students to collaborate, communicate, and problem-solve in teams, developing their interpersonal and 21st-century skills.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel supported, valued, and encouraged to take risks and persist in their learning.
  • Assess student understanding and progress through formative and summative assessments, providing timely and constructive feedback to support student growth and development.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in STEM education, instructional technology, and project-based learning.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, upcoming projects, and opportunities for involvement in their child\'s STEM education.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor\'s degree in STEM-related field, Education, or related field (Required).
  • Teaching certification/license in Science, Mathematics, Technology, or Engineering (Preferred).
  • Prior experience teaching STEM subjects at the middle school level preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics concepts and principles.
  • Enthusiasm for STEM education and a genuine passion for inspiring students\' curiosity and interest in STEM fields.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students in STEM learning.
  • Creativity and innovation in lesson planning and instructional delivery.
  • Ability to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages inquiry, collaboration, and problem-solving.
  • Dedication to ongoing professional growth and development in the field of STEM education.
