The Maintenance Specialist II(Carpenter) performs restoration, renovation, and maintenance work. The Maintenance Specialist II (Carpenter) is responsible for all types of construction work throughout the facility. He reports to the Maintenance Specialist IV (Carpenter) and works under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor II, Assistant Plant Maintenance Manager and Plant Maintenance Manager. Ability to follow established Planned Maintenance Programs. Ability to apply proper methods, techniques, and procedures in the maintenance and repair of buildings. Ability to repair and install various types of locks and to make keys. Ability to follow instructions, both written and verbal. Ability to read, understand, and utilize Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). Ability to use computer key system, ability to inspect, test and adjust fire alarm controlled fire and smoke doors. Performs other duties as assigned. Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agencyand#146;s obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location. Essential Job FunctionsAttends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned. 1. Repair or replace all cabinets, doors and windows throughout the facility. 2. Repair or replace all masonry, brick work and mortar. 3. Repair or replace all vinyl tile and sheet vinyl floors. 4. Repair or replace lock, hinges, pulls, and fasteners of all types. 5. Repair or replace concrete sidewalks, floors, and curbs as required. 6. Ability to use and properly maintain tools or equipment. 7. Ability to install all types of drop ceilings and all types of sheetrock walls and ceilings. 8. Replace or repair all types of ceramic tile floors, showers, and tub areas. 9. Stands emergency maintenance call on a rotating basis according to Maintenance Procedures to provide needed services. 10. Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agencyand#146;s obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations COOP activation.
