UW - WHITEWATER Assistant Professor - Kinesiology in WHITEWATER, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job ID: 21532 ATTENTION: The Department of Kinesiology in the College of Education and Professional Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the area of Health Promotion beginning August 2025. This is a full-time position with responsibilities for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in the Health, Physical Education, and Adapted PE Major (HPEA), Human Performance Major (HP), and department minors, as well as research and service to the university and community. JOB DETAILS: Teach a variety of courses within the Kinesiology Department\'s majors and minors. Specifically, we are looking for a candidate to support the department by teaching courses such Introduction to Quality of Life and Health Promotion, Life Systems, Health Behavior Development, Health Promotion Management, Implementation of Content in Standards-Based Health, and Curriculum Planning for Content in Standards-Based Health. The candidate will also be expected to pursue an active research agenda that engages undergraduate and graduate students, results in publications and contributes to advancing the department, university, the profession, and society. The candidates will also be expected to participate in service activities and embrace inclusion as a member of the university community. RESPONSIBILITIES: Full-Time teaching responsibilities include teaching 12 credits per semester within the department, which may include supervision of internships or student teachers, if they hold the appropriate teaching licenses/credentials. In addition, faculty members serve as advisors/mentors to students and are encouraged to engage students in undergraduate research or other scholarly and creative activities. Research expectations include a productive research agenda that includes publications in peer reviewed journals and presentations at academic conferences. Service responsibilities include committee service at the departmental, college, and university levels as well as participation in community organizations as relevant to the candidate\'s expertise and interest. Faculty at UW-W may be required to teach online and/or in a hybrid format. Faculty may also elect to teach New Student Seminar, University Learning Communities, or participate in other programs geared toward improving student success.
