Summary About the Position: This Supervisory Security Specialist is located at White Sands Missile Range. G-2 Directorate (Protection) Branch with duty location of White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico. (merit) Responsibilities Serve under the Direction of the White Sands Missile Range G-2, Assistant Chief of Staff, Director/Security Office as the G-2 Supervisory Security Specialist (Protection) Branch Chief, overseeing Army Protection Programs. Establish security programs ensuring consistency throughout the enterprise. Advise on establishing comprehensive security protection programs. Conduct studies to identify program issues to develop new/revised actions. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Administer security programs to include Anti-Terrorism, Force Protection, Physical Security for an organization; 2) Conduct security inspections to ensure policy compliance; AND 3) Provide guidance to management officials on protection of personnel and assets. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11/NH-02). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. The U.S. Army Test and Evaluation Command (ATEC) is participating in an alternate personnel system known as the Acquisition Demonstration Project (AcqDemo). Among other features, the Demonstration Project replaced GS grade levels with occupational families and pay bands. The band NH-03 is equal to the former GS-12 Step 01 through GS-13 step 10. ATEC uses salary control points to allow for differentiation in the level of positions within the same broadband. Therefore, the salary for this position will be set no higher than $134,435.00 including locality.
