Summer Intern Program duration: June 2 - August 8, 2025.
Position: Summer Internship - Communications Analyst
Primary duties and responsibilities:
- The intern for Corp Communications would support content development, metrics and reporting for the new Corporate Communications Content Strategy.
- Reputation programming.
- Intranet development and other projects identified in the internal comms audit.
- Executive visibility - help produce the 2026 overview.

Intranet Project:
- Project manage several new features for the next evolution of the Intranet. Work with vendor representatives to learn, design and implement features that will be rolled out in an upcoming enhancement phase. Serve as subject matter expert and project manager for all technical aspects of features, obtaining design and content approvals and ensure key members of the corporate communications team are trained prior to rollout.
- Supports the internal communications programs and activities including development of content creation and other communications efforts for Webster corporate communications team.
- Manage PR program and activities including media relations and content creation for the company's external communications channels.
- Work closely with C-suite leaders in HSA Bank and Webster, as appropriate, to build and expand their presence externally through media/external speaking engagements and with other stakeholders.
- Lead day-to-day account management for HSA Bank's external public relations agency, including priorities and budget to deliver initiatives on-time and on-budget.
- Create and manage thought leadership efforts including byline content creation, social media post development and foster partnerships with HSAB marketing team and leadership team.
- Manage oversight of company's reputation award program including award sourcing, coordinating awards strategy with direct supervisor and developing corporate and colleague award submissions. [clarified wording for this item]
- Assist direct supervisor with account management and priorities for Webster external public relations firm and contractors. Lead efforts to identify and hire additional third-party vendors as necessary, such as media monitoring firms, additional agency support, etc.
- Develop quarterly reports and provide stakeholders with media and competitor insights.
- Provide coordination and support on crisis communications and issues management, and business continuity planning and counsel.
- Coordinate internally with line of business product/partnership efforts and marketing team on integrated projects.
- Support other corporate/financial communications on behalf of Webster's holding company.
- Participate in market research and tracking activities.
- Other ad hoc responsibilities as needed.
