St. Vincent's Hospital Westchester Director of Security in White Plains, New York

$1,000 Sign-on and Retention Bonus

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Directly supervise the Security Manager for the Westchester shelter operations. Ensure that all Security Personnel follow NYS Security Guard Act of 1992, and other local city, County, and State training requirements Develop training programs applicable to the daily security functions and responsibilities Develop / design security systems and make recommendation for implementation Conduct mandatory Security Officer Training, First Aid and CPR training, and Fire Guard Training fire prevention, fire extinguisher, and fire panel basics Ensure that the service delivery of security staff is carried out to clients and tenants appropriately. Write investigative reports and conduct investigations regarding incidents / accidents and employee misconduct Trouble shoot video surveillance system and solicit contractor support if necessary Liaise / establish partnerships with local law enforcement personnel Respond to and address concerns of tenants and local merchants in the area Conduct routine inspections of all sites (owned and managed) to ensure that security systems, i.e., cameras, intercoms, main entrance door locks are operable Recruit, interview, hire, terminate, and monitor the performance of all new hires Participate in hearings regarding disciplinary issues Participate in inter-departmental meetings and conduct periodic staff meetings Provide support to Management / Senior Staff requesting Security Services; i.e., Security, Escorts, Special Events, and security support at different sites Other duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Position requires a high school diploma and at least 5 years of related supervisory security experience. Requires NYS certification for security guards as well as clearance by the child abuse registry. Flexible hours and scheduled/unscheduled evening and weekend work required; on-call 24/7. Good written and verbal communication skills and good interpersonal and supervisory skills are required. Requires use of own car and valid NYS driver's license.
