The anticipated salary range for this role is between $203,000.00 and $230,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.

Role Objectives: Overview

The Data Management Department Americas Division (DMDAD) of the Chief Data Officer (CDO) works with group companies and functional areas on a wide range of data driven initiatives that will help accelerate SMBC’s data reporting and analytics journey. This includes ensuring the quality, integrity, and useability of the company’s critical data assets. We are looking to hire an experienced data management professional to join the Americas Division Party and Reference Data Domains. The role will assist the Enterprise Data Management Executive (EDME) in implementing the Organization's Data Governance and Strategic Transformation plans.

Role Objectives: About The Position

Master Data Management (MDM) Product Manager

This exciting new role will help define and articulate the CDOs data strategy / vision for master data management and effectively execute on strategic data initiatives as outlined in the target state roadmap. This work includes the timely management of critical party and reference data projects that enable data driven decision-making, improve productivity, and efficiently manage data risk. The successful candidate will have previously implemented and managed strategic data transformation projects in a complex financial environment. You will have a passion for data, proven ownership of a robust book of work and foster a data-driven culture within the team and across a wide range of business, technical and operational stakeholders.

Role Objectives: Responsibilities

  • Timely organization, maintenance, and prioritization of the MDM product roadmap in collaboration with key program stakeholders.

  • Responsible for the preparation of BAU and ad-hoc senior management decks and presentations, including materials for meeting with regulators.

  • Creates and maintains dashboards and/or scorecards to monitor the overall health and stability of the Informatica C360 MDM platform.

  • Key contributor to the team’s Agile Ceremonies including Daily Stand-Ups, Sprint Planning and Retrospectives to ensure the effective and timely execution of product deliverables.

  • Lead efforts in enterprise data standardization across fragmented source systems, ensuring consistency and uniformity across all data sets.

  • Analyze and evaluate large volumes of data, identify patterns and inconsistencies, document findings and track tactical / strategic remediation efforts.

  • Independently perform requirements gathering, validation testing, and implementation in an Agile Development environment.

  • Manage a team of data analysts responsible for a workflow queue of data stewardship updates to core master/reference data sets

  • Identify, review, and ratify Key Data Elements (KDEs) in the Party and Reference Data Domains and ensure compliance with DMDAD’s Data Governance Framework.

Qualifications and Skills

  • 10+ years’ experience in data management and governance best practices with a focus on party / customer and enterprise reference data assets.

  • Experience with strategic data transformation projects and client lifecycle management programs.

  • Strong knowledge of data and the use of data in business processes with prior experience in data transformation and/or remediation efforts preferred.

  • Proven ability to extracting large volumes of data for source-to-target comparison and analysis. Use fact patterns to identify, escalate, remediate, and monitor data quality issues.

  • A highly analytic, problem-solver that possess attention to detail and logical reasoning skills.

  • Ability to influence people outside the immediate span of control, negotiate and resolve conflicts across a cross functional set of stakeholders including business, operations, and tech partners.

  • Experience with SQL plus data analysis and reporting tools such as Alteryx and Power BI.

  • Will have worked in a large financial setting focused on master data management best practices in both the party and reference data domains.

  • Direct experience with Informatica SaaS or other leading MDM technology platforms.
