Langan CAD Designer - Entry Level in White Plains, New York
Job Summary Langan is seeking a CAD Designer to join its collaborative team in White Plains, NY. This individual will serve a key function in providing the assistance of planning and designing of civil engineering for both federal and private land development projects. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work as part of a passionate, collaborative team of civil engineers, working on exciting and meaningful projects across many different market sectors.
Job Responsibilities Effectively use reports, maps, drawings, engineering plans, tests, and aerial photographs to assess soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and topographical and geologic data to plan and design projects; Prepare the planning and designing documents of civil engineering, land development and infrastructure projects in close collaboration with engineers using engineering and design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.) and equipment; Perform zoning and other feasibility assessments for development projects; Write and/or review draft reports, including feasibility studies, stormwater management reports, technical specifications, and utility reports; Remain current with the Firms standards for CAD production and productivity tools to continuously increase efficient use of CAD; and Perform other duties as requested. Qualifications Associate's degree, certification, or equivalent experience in drafting, civil technology, engineering technology, or a similar area of study; Prior relevant internship or professional experience using AutoCAD (Civil 3D a plus) in site/civil land development design, including site planning, grading, stormwater management, drainage, and soil erosion is desired; Familiarity with local, state, and federal land use permitting; Strong AutoCAD design skills; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities; Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment; and Possess reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits and a valid drivers license in good standing.
