Overview:

The Operational Excellence Leader will be the driving force behind revolutionizing production landscape. This role is pivotal in championing and executing Lean initiatives across our entire network of facilities, transforming operations through process improvement systems. As a strategic business partner, the OpEx leader will be instrumental in steering results-driven strategies and maximizing the impact of our Lean framework, shaping the future of our operations excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement operational excellence strategies to metrics

  • Drive sustained operational improvements using Lean Principles that impact Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) through facilitation of lean activities and mentorship of employee

  • Facilitate the creation of labor standards across all operational functions and manufacturing locations.

  • Create and implement a Visual Factory Management system including visual boards, productivity tracker resulting in training key shop floor personnel to calculate and track by line our operational equipment efficiency (OEE).

  • Lead diagnosis of workflow impediments and other wastes throughout the business, and provide experienced counsel on appropriate Lean/6 Sigma tools to eliminate them.

  • Lead/facilitate root cause analysis (problem solving) using lean principles.

  • Develop team members through process.

  • Create an intuitive process to investigate and analyze trends.

  • Maintain implementation of Lean SOPs across all production sites to identify inefficiencies and other areas to reduce costs.

  • Implement “Best Practices” for process optimization drive continuous process improvement initiatives across all levels of the organization.

  • Establish organizational structural design, standards and span of control for all units of operation across all production sites.

  • Track gaps in actual labor hours against the standards for all units of operation across sites and enable site teams to identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Provide daily productivity reports for value stream mapping for customers.

  • Train site teams to improve their performance and reduce variation in cycle times of bottleneck operations and to reduce overall lead times.

  • Exhibit leadership and influence behaviors to drive continuous process improvement initiatives across all levels of the organization.

  • All other duties as assigned

    Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Engineering, or similar Life Science degree

  • 6 to 8 years of proven experience as a Lean Value Stream Manager / and or leader experience including process improvements and application of Lean and Shop Floor management techniques in a Pharma packaging environment, required.

  • SME knowledge of Pharma equipment for Packaging (Blistering, Bottling, Cartoning, and kitting), including manual operations and processes.

  • Must be an SME in Lean Manufacturing, process excellence and Kaizen techniques (or similar efficiency techniques in the workplace).

  • Experience working on Life Science project assignments in manufacturing and packaging – (Oral Solid Dosage, Liquids, ointments, powders, and pre-filled syringes), strongly preferred.
