Eversource Energy Supervisor, Energy Efficiency, Residential (Hybrid) in Westwood, Massachusetts

In this role within the energy efficiency department, you will oversee the activities of a team of Energy Efficiency Consultants who are managing vendors to implement energy efficiency and decarbonization projects in existing building stock for Eversource’s residential and low-income customers in Massachusetts. Your successful program delivery involves coordinating with other MA electric and gas utilities and energy efficiency service providers through a statewide approach. You will be responsible for ensuring that the electric and natural gas programs for these customer segments are deployed in a customer-centric and cost-efficient manner that drives high levels of customer participation and ensures that internal and external expectations for service delivery are met.

As a supervisor, you will provide the strategy and vision to drive creative and effective solutions and will be responsible for the oversight of goal achievement within the portfolio. You and your team will be responsible for the performance and support of lead implementation vendors who perform home energy assessments, manage energy efficiency and decarbonization project work scopes, and ensure the quality of installations and services provided for our customers. The Supervisor will also be responsible for regular engagement and coordination with internal stakeholders including, sales, channel, marketing, and evaluation teams, and external stakeholders such as our customers, regulators, and others.

Essential Functions

  • Lead and develop a team of Energy Efficiency Consultants to create and deliver effective residential energy efficiency and decarbonization programs.
  • Oversee the overall implementation of projects for residential customers to ensure achievement of decarbonization goals within a defined budget.
  • Oversee the performance and lend in the support of contracted vendors delivering these on-the-ground energy efficiency and decarbonization projects.
  • Contribute to long-term strategic program evolution.
  • Collaborate with the management team and marketing team to effectively generate demand for and participation in these programs.
  • Work with stakeholders to identify, promote and administer new and innovative approaches to achieve strategic objectives while balancing the demands of other initiatives and opportunities.
  • Coordinate with Massachusetts electric and gas utilities and energy efficiency services providers as well as with Eversource CT and NH Residential, and MA C&I program leaders to share best practices in strategic and implementation efforts.
  • Directly responsible for the budgeting, invoicing and tracking of expenses and energy savings, as well as contributing to the development of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for contracted services and Requests for Qualifications (RFQs) for competitive price-setting in core technologies.
  • Support the integration of strategic activities between the customer, program administrators, advisory consultants, and vendor/contractors to yield customer-centric programs and services. Leads initiatives that research, identify, develop, and implement new value-added products and services for all customer classes.
  • Develop relationships with key customers, stakeholders, and contractors that participate in assigned energy efficiency and decarbonization programs.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives and engage stakeholders to ensure all resultant improvements are delivered on time, on budget and within scope approved by management.
  • Execute on department plans to ensure compliance with regulatory filings and oversight of rate-payer funds for Energy Efficiency programs.
  • Represent Eversource in national energy efficiency conferences and/or stake holder events (e.g. ACEEE, ASHRAE, ACI, and CEE).

Qualifications

Technical Knowledge/Skill:

  • Strong business and operations management skills, and analytical skills

  • Proven success in developing staff through mentoring, education, and challenging assignments.
  • Experience and ability to communicate clearly and effectively through written correspondence and public speaking engagements.

  • Goal and objective-driven, including adeptness with removing obstacles and barriers while remaining collaborative with many internal and external stakeholders – able to lead in a team setting.
  • Ability to approach opportunities for improvement creatively and generate and act on new ideas with the objective of providing more value to the customer.
  • Ability to interpret energy efficiency and decarbonization technologies and understand their application.
  • Requires fundamental understanding of financial principals and the ability to manage data and information in MS Office applications.
  • Demonstrates initiative and ability to make decisions based on logical assumptions and data to achieve both company and customer satisfaction.
  • An in-depth knowledge of EVERSOURCE’s mission, organization, functional areas and resources, business strategies, Codes of Conduct, Business Ethics, Environmental and Diversity Policies.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Energy and Sustainability, or a related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Master’s Degree preferred.

Experience :

  • Five (5) plus years of relevant experience in energy efficiency. Prior leadership experience strongly preferred.
  • Aptitude in development and implementation of programs, demonstrated success in a goal-based performance framework.
  • Experience in communication at various levels of organizations, companies, and institutions.
  • Experience in presentations and public speaking desired.

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Relevant energy efficiency certifications encouraged (e.g., BPI, CEM, BEP)

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The annual salary range for this position is $123,000 - $136,000 plus incentive. Salary is commensurate with your experience. Check out the career site for an overview of benefits.
