Schwab is seeking intelligent, hardworking, and dedicated individuals to join the ranks of the Organizational Change Management team in the technology division. The successful candidate will collect and analyze data to develop a change strategy to support Schwab Technology Services (STS) initiatives.

The Organizational Change Management Practitioner is a motivated individual, proficient in multiple change management theories, who can transfer theory into practice using a consultative approach to change management.

What you are good at

An Organizational Change Management Practitioner is an individual contributor, playing a key role to ensure change initiatives for new business processes, systems, technologies, job roles, and organizational structures are successful. This role is focused on the people side of change, working to reduce employee resistance to change and increase the speed of adoption of new behaviors needed for change initiatives to be successful.

What you have

  • Championing change management methodology to develop change management strategies that help guide and support people through the change and transition process.

  • Applying change management methodology to develop change management strategies that help guide and support people through the change and transition process.

  • Conducting change impact analyses that determine the changes required for a successful change and assessing the organization’s capacity and readiness for change.

  • Developing appropriate change management plans and resistance management plans, in alignment with the overall project plan.

  • Contributing when needed to the design, development and delivery of change communications and training.

  • Partnering with project team members, stakeholders, and leaders to implement change plans, resolve issues, and manage resistance.

  • Monitoring progress of the change plans, collecting feedback, evaluating results and adjusting plans as needed.

  • Supporting the change coordination activities, status reporting, roadmap planning, and additional change elements that help drive change consistency.

  • Use strategic thinking and analytical problem-solving skills.

  • Function as a core member of a program/project team.

  • Expert communicator and influencer with outstanding communication and negotiation skills.

  • Must be able to demonstrate a level maturity while under constant pressure from the business and technology community.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Bachelors degree required; Masters degree in related field (Organizational Psychology, Organizational Development, Communications) preferred but not required (change management certification will be an asset i.e. PROSCI)

  • 2-5 years of experience in organizational change management, consulting, employee communications, learning & development, or internal strategy, including designing processes, framing problems, writing employee communications, making presentation materials, facilitating meetings, presenting to large and small audiences

  • Strong communication and storytelling with Powerpoint, Word

  • Instructional design experience designing and creating training materials (how-to-guides, e-learning, FAQs, instructor-led training materials and facilitator guides, etc.) preferred but not required

  • Experience in technology and /or financial services strongly preferred, but not required

  • Strategic thinking, sound judgment, comfort with ambiguity, and ability to influence
