FT: Sanitation Worker, Westfield. A Sanitation Worker in a food factory is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and hygiene standards within the production facility. They play a vital role in ensuring that the food processing environment meets regulatory requirements and follows Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). Sanitation Workers follow strict protocols to clean and sanitize equipment, production areas, and facilities to prevent contamination and ensure food safety.

Responsibilities Cleaning and Sanitizing:

Perform cleaning and sanitation tasks following established procedures and schedules.

Disassemble and reassemble equipment for thorough cleaning, including food processing machinery, conveyors, and work surfaces.

Use cleaning agents, sanitizers, and disinfectants to remove dirt, debris, and microorganisms from equipment and surfaces.

Follow proper sanitation techniques to prevent cross-contamination and ensure the safety of food products.

Clean and sanitize floors, walls, drains, restrooms, and other areas within the facility.

Compliance and Documentation:

Follow all food safety regulations, including those set by local health departments and regulatory agencies.

Keep detailed records of cleaning and sanitation activities, including cleaning logs, checklists, and other required documentation.

Equipment Inspection and Maintenance:

Inspect equipment for cleanliness and functionality before and after cleaning.

Identify any damaged or malfunctioning equipment and report it for repairs or maintenance.

Follow preventative maintenance schedules to ensure proper functioning of sanitation equipment and tools.

Qualifications and Skills High school diploma or equivalent.

Previous experience in sanitation or cleaning, preferably in a food processing or manufacturing environment.

Knowledge of food safety regulations, GMPs, and sanitation principles.

Familiarity with cleaning chemicals, sanitizers, and disinfectants used in a food production environment.

Attention to detail and a high level of cleanliness.

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.

Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and work in a physically demanding environment.

Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.

Knowledge of basic safety practices and the ability to identify and address potential hazards.

Flexibility to work different shifts or extended hours as required.

Benefits/Compensation Full Time

Pay Rate is $17-$19 per hour

2nd and 3rd Shift Available

Weekly pay while employed through Career Concepts
