Vertiv Corporation Thermodynamics HVAC Engineer in Westerville, Ohio
Job Summary The Thermodynamics HVAC Engineer is part of the Thermal Management team within the Engineering and R&D Department. This position reports to a Manager, Engineering, and the research and development scope is on global products supporting Chilled Water Systems product line. Responsibilities: * Manage the development of new R&D products in the data center cooling sector for high profile and well-known global datacenter customers. * Work in a multi-disciplinary engineering team on global products focusing on high-performance, cost-effective design and market-leading innovation. * Lead the design of new products or re-engineer existing ones, collaborating with Marketing, Procurement, and Industrial Engineering, being aware of the customer's needs. * Approve and review product documentation (CAD drawings, specifications, bills of material) * Meet objectives of cost, quality, environment, and time of execution, achieving the best trade-off between market and internal customer needs * Analyze and resolve technical problems as regards products under his/her responsibility Requirements: * Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering * 3+ years of previous working experience on similar projects, ideally in the HVAC sector with particularly competence on liquid chillers design * Excellent knowledge of thermodynamic and refrigeration principles * English - Intermediate level - written and spoken. * High level of motivation combined with leadership abilities. * Competences: result-oriented, team player, careful to details, flexible * Available to travel if needed.
