AMETEK Prestolite Power is in the business of providing superior battery charging solutions. Prestolite Power designs, manufactures, and distributes high quality industrial battery chargers for the motive power industry. Job Summary The assembler is responsible for the assembly and wiring to complete electronic assemblies and sub-assemblies by working closely with Engineering and plant management. Specific Responsibilities

  • Performs any combination of the following tasks to assemble electronic components, subassemblies, products, and/or systems: reads work orders, follows production drawings and sample assemblies, or receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.
  • Positions and aligns parts in specified relationship to each other in jig, fixture, or other holding device.
  • Buffs, crimps, screws, bolts, solders, press fits, or performs similar operations to join or secure assembled components, such as transformers, resistors, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and sockets, on chassis panel using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment.
  • Handle company tools, equipment and materials with reasonable care and report any problems immediately to supervisor.
  • Follow all company policies including but not limited to safety, attendance, and break times.
  • Perform all other tasks as assigned.

  • Possess experience and knowledge in basic electronics and excellent mechanical ability.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, documents, procedure manuals.
  • Able to read work instructions and apply them to specific work types.
  • Able to read supplied specification sheets and apply the data to specific work types.
  • Ability to speak effectively with other employees.

Education / Experience High School diploma or equivalent. Physical Requirements Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full use of the lower extremities and back muscles. Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine. Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Standing: Particularly for sustained periods of time. Fingering: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm as in handling. Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm. Feeling: Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips. Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and make fine discriminations in sound. Repetitive Motions: Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
