We are seeking a skilled and experienced (Senior) Backend Software Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems using C# /.NET.

Job Duties

  • Software Development

  • Write high-quality, secure, and maintainable code to deliver on agile user stories, ensuring that our platform is reliable and scalable.

  • Develop and maintain unit tests with a high degree of code coverage, ensuring that our code is rigorously tested and optimized for performance.

  • Perform code reviews on other team members' pull requests, providing constructive feedback and guidance to improve the quality of our code.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production, working closely with the team to identify and implement effective solutions.

  • Create clear and concise documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, and code comments that illustrate the type of code needed.

  • Document each aspect of a system or application as a reference for future upgrades and maintenance, ensuring that our platform is easily maintainable and upgradable.

  • Maintain compliance with applicable policies and procedures for areas such as Quality, Security, and Privacy, ensuring that our platform is secure and compliant with industry standards.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

  • Design and develop scalable backend systems using C# / .NET

  • Implement and maintain relational databases, such as Postgres or SQL Server, ensuring optimal performance and data integrity.

  • Apply knowledge of message bus technologies, such as RabbitMQ, and event store platforms like Apache Kafka to enhance system capabilities.

  • Develop and maintain event-driven architectures using Azure EventGrid and other messaging systems to trigger workflows in response to system events.

  • Implement and practice test-driven development across the pyramid using tools such as xUnit, NUnit, Fluent Assertions, Moq, Bogus and Respawn.

  • Utilize cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform to deploy and manage applications.

  • Adhere to the principles of Clean Architecture in the design and development of backend systems, ensuring that our codebase is modular, testable, and easy to understand.

Job Qualification

Required:

  • A college or advanced educational degree is not necessarily required for this position. We also value education achieved via work experience, coursework and training, and even self-guided learning.

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Software Engineer, with a focus on backend development.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and project management practices

  • Hands-on programming experience using relevant languages. C# / .NET preferred.

  • Solid understanding of relational databases (e.g., Postgres, SQL Server).

  • Familiarity with message bus technologies (e.g., RabbitMQ) and event store platforms (e.g., Apache Kafka) is desired.

  • Proven ability to develop and maintain event-driven architectures and rules engines for business process automation.

  • Experience with test-driven development

  • Broad understanding of technology topics such as (e.g., cloud products and platforms, microservice architectures, automation, and API integration).

  • Experience maintaining and developing with CI/CD pipelines.

  • Practical experience with FHIR and healthcare-related data management systems is highly desirable.

The anticipated base pay range for this full-time position working at this location is $95,665.00 - $129,148.00 / year, plus potential for annual bonus (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements). Olympus considers a variety of factors when determining actual compensation for this position including: level of experience, working location, and relevant education and certifications.
