Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Manager who is responsible for expertly leveraging e-commerce insights and cross functional relationships to create and execute revenue and margin category plans. Working in lock step with their Club Merchant counterparts, the Digital Merchandise Manager is focused on improving a member’s omni experience. Analytically driven the Digital Merchandise Manager consistently takes initiative and is creative, solution oriented, innovative, collaborative and focused on building relationships.

Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • Drive relationships with brick & mortar merchant and fulfillment teams, proactively shares insights and pertinent digital performance data

  • Expertly utilize data to drive KPIs and leverage analytics to identify category opportunities to formulate, execute and evaluate both short-term and long-term strategic plans

  • Analyze event, supplier, class and category performance and utilizes insights to inform future planning

  • Advance catalog expansion: identify selection gaps, prioritize new item production, and develop relationships with target suppliers

  • Accountable for the digital revenue, margin and visual success of their category

  • Create and execute a profitable promotional strategy driving vendor negotiations around assortment selection, pricing, promotional and digital opportunities

  • Create and manage strategic supplier account plans; expand upon existing supplier relationships

  • Coach vendor performance using data to expand upon successes, advantageously address white space and mitigate issues

  • Expertly leverage Experience, Program, Product, Engineering, and Digital Marketing resources

  • Optimize the visual presentation of products and services to highlight features and benefits across all aspects of the site

  • Utilize leadership and cross functional team effectively

  • Lead process improvement discussions across the organization

  • Work well with ambiguity, leveraging experience to drive success

  • Maintain industry expertise; keep abreast of competition, trends and new product ideas

  • Train, develop and mentor assistant digital merchant

    What You’ll Need

  • 7+ years’ experience in buying/merchandising

  • Digital experience is a MUST

  • Bachelors’ Degree

  • Articulate and persuasive communication skills, both written and verbal

  • A track record of successful negotiation and relationship management skills

  • An ability to hit the ground running – a confident, entrepreneurial self-starter

  • Demonstrated senior presence, recognized as an effective manager

  • An ability to manage and prioritize projects, and to delegate tasks appropriately

  • Innovative problem-solving skills – dissect and determine root causes of problems and implement solutions

  • A track record of taking on big challenges and delivering despite obstacles and limited resources

  • Experience managing others preferred
