Global Commercial Services (GCS) at American Express is the global leader in providing payments solutions for small, medium, and large businesses. The Business Travel Account (BTA) Product Development Team sits within Corporate Program Product Development (CPPD).

The team leads product development of the BTA programme which gives our commercial customers enhanced security, control, and enriched data for their business payments. We are essential to our commercial clients and Amex, generating more than $13 billion in charge volume annually for GCS.

You will be joining a high-performing global team that is focused on improving clients’ payment processes in the business travel space to help design, develop, and manage activities for a product or group of products from product definition and planning through production, release, and end of life. Partner with stakeholder teams on enhancing/refining product strategies and roadmaps. Serves as the central resource with design, process, development, test, quality, and marketing, throughout all stages of a product’s lifecycle. Manage the features backlog by identifying and prioritizing features and capabilities through direct input with customers, analysts, developers and architects and knowledge of the domain. Facilitate resolution of risks, issues and changes related to the product development lifecycle. Involvement includes modifications, upgrades and maintenance of the product or product line.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assists in developing the business case for new products or features including management of specific projects in relation to Enterprise programmes.

  • Supports the Intake of new product development requests, creation and maintenance of the product backlog, prioritizing features and establishing timelines for product releases.

  • Partners closely with analytics team to develop & maintain Reporting & Analytics on the BTA Programme.

  • Supports in the documentation of as-is / to-be processes for product management, product enhancements, key findings and standard methodologies.

  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams including Product, Technology and other adjacent stakeholders to support the management of issue resolution, gather and document product requirements and to ensure timely delivery of product features, following agile development methodologies.

  • Managing onboarding of new Travel Partners to BTA Programme

  • Assists in the identification of technical gaps and collaborates with broader teams to facilitate resolution risks, opportunities and changes tied to product management initiatives and processes.

  • Understands competitive and internal positioning for their product or product line through internal and external market research.

  • Use analytical abilities and strategic perspective to identify trends & recommend solutions that will help improve the user experience.
