Job Overview:
The Program Manager will report directly to the Neurosciences Service Line Administrative Team, and work collaboratively with the Tele-Stroke System Medical Director, along with Neurosciences Leaders across the RWJBarnabas Health Facilities. This individual will be accountable for implementing, integrating, and expanding Telestroke Services for the appropriate facilities within the system. Their main focus will be ensuring key components such as call schedules, workflows, policies and procedures, technological resources, and key data elements are all aligned to support the necessary facilities needing coverage.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor s Degree in Nursing required
A minimum of 3 years of clinical hospital experience
Neurology experience and/or stroke experience
Strong presentation and facilitation skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms
Highly organized, and great time management skills.
Attends local and national educational programs to attain at least 8 hours of stroke-specific education annually.
Preferred:
- Master s Degree in Nursing preferred
Certifications and Licenses Required:
NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License
Maintains current BLS and ACLS certifications
Maintains requirements for certification by professional organization and New Jersey State Board of Nursing
Scheduling Requirements:
- The position will operate as a hybrid model with the ability to work from home as needed, and the main office being located in West Orange, New Jersey. Furthermore, this individual would also be required to facilitate and attend necessary in person meetings at the individual hospitals as needed.
Essential Functions:
Administration:
Assists in development, communication and evaluation of the Telestroke program standards of care.
Collaborates with the health disciplines of the Stroke Centers to ensure continuity of patient care.
Works with the Telestroke Medical Director to identify the necessary providers, and build out a call coverage model for the facilities.
Participates in interdisciplinary conferences.
Prepares all necessary reports to maintain compliance with all regulatory standards and accreditation organizations.
Initiates and maintains stroke program database for performance improvement and initiatives.
Reviews and ensures all documentation is completed by any provider responsible for seeing a Stroke Patient.
Collects, organizes, and analyzes data from RWJBH Health System Hospitals.
Partners with the Mobile Health Team, in terms of establishing the appropriate workflows and protocols related to the Telestroke process.
Take part in establishing and supporting a monthly Tele-Stroke Performance Improvement Meeting to review workflows, data trends, key stroke measures, etc.
Be available to support onsite regulatory agency visits at the necessary spoke sites within the system utilizing Telestroke services.
Education:
Disseminates information regarding performance initiatives, outcomes, and data collection findings to the necessary committee meetings.
Attends appropriate conferences related to care of the stroke patient.
Maintains the necessary CEUs to meet State, Professional and/or Accreditation Organization requirements.
Work with Telestroke Medical Director to prepare an Educational Plan for all professionals providing care to stroke patients.
