Job Description
Position: Nurse Practitioner
24 hours/3 days a week position
Program: Metropolitan Regional Diagnostic and Treatment Center
The providers responsibilities as a member of the Metropolitan Regional Diagnostic and Treatment Center, shall be subject to the direction of the employer and shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
Clinical Responsibilities:
Comprehensive medical evaluation and/or chart reviews for alleged victims of child sexual abuse, physical abuse, and neglect,
Case Conferencing with physicians and/or DCP&P to assist in initial decision making,
In hospital consultations, which may include visits with the child victim,
Expert testimony in both civil and criminal courts,
Participation in ongoing education as required,
Teaching Responsibilities:
Provide teaching and didactic sessions to pediatric house staff and medical students on aspects of child abuse and neglect, if opportunities arise;
Education and training of general pediatricians, nurses, mental health clinicians, social workers and law enforcement, if opportunities arise;
Administrative Responsibilities:
Attend RDTC meetings as scheduled, when possible,
Participate in other forums related to child maltreatment, as opportunities arise,
Oversee and/or prepare documents for patient forms, laboratories, etc,
Reports to: Metro RDTC Medical Director
