ABM Industries HVAC Tech/Apprentice in West Los Angeles, California
The HVAC Technician specializes in residential commercial air and water-cooled chiller systems but not limited to maintaining and performing repairs on all assigned HVAC and Refrigeration equipment and controls, chilled water systems, and boilers in such manner as to ensure optimal client relations.
Pay: $ 25.00 an hour
The pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position. A specific offer will vary based on applicant’s experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.
Shift: Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm

Requirements
608 CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
OEM EXPERIENCE IS A PLUS
Water source heat pumps and evaporative condensers
Understanding of basic HVAC controls
Pump and motor alignments
Experience with split systems, Knowledge of 1.5 or 2 ton heat pump package units and mini split dual zone systems
2 years Residental HVAC experience preferred
Responsibilities:
Ability to troubleshoot, calibrate and adjust pilots, thermostats and burners, transformers, controls, relays, heaters, elements, switches and controls on electrical systems.
Ability to use the tools of the trade (e.g. multimeter, refrigerant gauges, charging charts, hand tools etc.)
Required to work 1st responder assignments and work on call duties as assigned
Complies with service standards, work instructions and customers' requirements
Primarily work on chillers but will service roof top units and standard split systems when necessary.
Installs, maintains and repairs ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment
Proficiently operates hand tools, power tools, gauges and measuring equipment.
Completes service contracts, quoted projects and service calls as directed.
Develops long-term relationships with customers and explains work performed to the customer's satisfaction.
Communicates and documents work order status.
Safely drive company vehicle and follows requirements of company vehicle driving policy and adheres to all company safety requirements.
Maintains equipment, tools, and inventory stock on service vehicle.
Able to work effectively with app-based software.
Takes and logs readings from critical equipment and takes appropriate corrective actions before system outage occurs.
Excellent customer service skills with a desire to exceed customers’ expectations.
Advanced knowledge of service processes, techniques and codes is required.
