POSITION SUMMARY:
Must be proficient in all of the duties of an Engineering Technician I. Performs routine experiments for process or research and development engineering and records and reports the results. In addition, this position performs diversified mechanical, electromechanical, software or electronic technical duties in testing, debugging and documentation. Supports engineering activities such as design, test, check-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro mechanical systems or specialized test equipment. Applications may include new and challenging fluids, substrates, and machine integrations. Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and troubleshooting functions. Performs operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment. Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions. Assists in the design, construction, test and check-out of test equipment. Uses manufacturing, test, development or diagnostic equipment, including, but not limited to, test programs, spectrophotometers, microscopes, software programs, UV lamps, drying lamps and specialized test apparatus.

EXPERIENCE
Typically requires a minimum of 1 - 2 years of related experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monitors procedures and reports discrepancies to identify problems.
Drafts clear and concise documentation of test processes and procedures.
Analyzes test data to help support determination of creative solutions to technical problems.
Works from written and verbal descriptions, defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions.
At the direction of the lab supervisor, employs the right combination of equipment, technology and processes to generate proof-of-concept samples as well as showcase feasibility of customer application.
Discusses technical problems encountered with supervisor or engineering personnel and initiates corrective action with appropriate support personnel.
Assists in determining method or action to remedy malfunctions.
Assists in the construction, test and check-out of test equipment.
Communicates data, reports and procedures within group.
Participates in training and may certify specific training procedures for new employees and cross-train existing employees.

Participates in ongoing effort to standardize and improve lab procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED:
Associate’s Degree in technical discipline or equivalent years of experience and 1-2 years of related experience.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to multi-task.
Must be a self-starter.
Good technical writing skills.
Ability to graph data to write reports, determine failures, etc.
Experience using specialized equipment.
Problem-solving skills utilizing equipment knowledge and experience to arrive at solutions
Knowledge of MS Office programs and Adobe Creative Cloud suite
DESIRED:
Experience with experimental design.
Ability to troubleshoot failures in product and processes.
Photo manipulation skills.
Knowledge of statistics.
Knowledge of FUJIFILM Dimatix technology.
