Inspire customers through personalized design assistance and engaging design workshops that showcase an immersive experience with our innovative, sustainable products.

Location: Onsite at Culver City or West Hollywood, CA

Opportunity

Join the Kohler team as a Retail Manager to be based out of, be trained in, and lead its first Kohler Owned Kohler Experience Center in West Hollywood CA with the flexibility to support Kohler Signature Store in Culver City, CA. After Retail Manager training is completed, permanent assignment will be finalized between these 2 locations. As a Retail Manager, you’ll help build and represent our brand and will be immersed in a fast paced and exciting customer-facing environment while developing a wide array of relationships that span the range from walk-in retail traffic to key trade industry clients. In addition, you’ll engage in strategic outreach to the architecture and design community to develop and grow your store’s client base while being an ambassador of the Kohler family of brands. This role leads the showroom team to create an exceptional and gracious experience for our clients and helps drive business to exceed sales goals. They serve as a role model for our Sales Designers in sales generation and world class service by prioritizing the customer experience first and consistently implementing the Kohler Signature Store & Experience Center’s Premium Client Service standards. This role will utilize training materials and resources to educate the team on product knowledge, help improve selling skills and achieve personal business goals. The Retail Manager helps create and ensure a positive team environment where all associates are treated fairly and equitably with dignity and respect.

Specific Responsibilities

  • The Retail Manager works in partnership with the Multi-Unit Store Manager to organize, plan and implement strategies of day-to-day operations. This includes employee management, customer satisfaction to showroom maintenance.

  • Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills. Able to set clear expectations, holding store team and themselves accountable for achieving all brand, performance, and behavior standards.

  • Exceptional critical thinking skills to creatively identify challenges and develop action plans in a timely manner.

  • Great time management skills and ability to execute multiple tasks and appropriately manage competing priorities.

  • Promotes a positive working environment where there is trust, cooperation, accountability, safety and equity.

  • Upholds our customer service principles by coaching staff on their successes and challenges and reinforcing positive selling behaviors.

  • Trains and develops to ensure the sales team is fluent in all aspects of product knowledge across our multiple brands and available services.

  • Has high personal integrity that promotes the positive selling culture of KOHLER.

  • Is skilled in relationship and team building. Supports in the development of a high-performance culture through motivating the Sales Design team to meet assigned sales and productivity goals.

  • Knowledge of the plumbing industry preferred but not required.

  • Reports directly to the Multi-Unit Store Manager with daily and occasional contact with the design trade, contractors, distributors, and Kohler Co. Corporate Departments.

Skills/Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years recent retail store manager experience required.

  • Previous experience leading teams of at least 10 associates is a plus.

  • Four-year college degree preferred.

  • Previous experience in project sales, kitchen, and bath products, and/or home products preferred.

The salary range for this position is $79,500 - $100,450. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
