Overview

As a Design Director you lead a team of designers from project conceptualization to completion, with a focus on design. You often oversee several projects at a time ensuring all projects meet the highest level of professionalism. You often lead the design requirements of new business pitches.

Your specialty: You live and breathe all things design and provide leadership, train and mentor Design Leads.

Scope of Role

  • Fosters a collaborative, agile and innovative environment.

  • Leads design team to ensure high- quality work.

  • Inspires, motivates and mentors design team.

  • Gives continuous feedback to peers.

  • Champions the design craft within Razorfish.

  • Actively shapes and participates in company culture.

Responsibilities

  • Directs the creation and implementation of design concepts, design systems, presentation decks and storyboards.

  • Experienced in mobile app design, and familiar with Google Material Design and Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines.

  • Oversees asset creation, production, photo retouching and enhancements.

  • Partners with team members to ensure projects meet objectives.

  • Prepares for, and leads, workshops/ brainstorming sessions.

  • Participates in new business initiatives.

  • Develops tools to improve internal processes.

  • Client-facing representative for design-related presentations.

  • Ensures deadlines, timetables and approval procedures are adhered to.

  • QAs work for consistency, accuracy and functionality.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in design, fine arts, or related field.

Previous Experience

  • Exceptional portfolio that includes strong design systems thinking.

  • Highly skilled and proficient at service and e-commerce design.

  • Expert command of standard design and layout applications.

  • Advanced understanding of the digital landscape.

  • Expert knowledge of all steps required in the creative development process.

Compensation Range: $127,585 - $192,060. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met.
