Wells Fargo Senior Tax Analyst in WEST DES MOINES, Iowa

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Tax Analyst responsible for review and preparation of components of the organization's US federal and state income tax returns and related book-tax adjustments. In this role, you will interact with other areas in Corporate Finance and provide support in adhering to internal control standards. The position offers leadership exposure to domestic/offshore teams, Tax executives, Controller's team, Lines of Business (LOB) and development of a new team!

In this role, you will:

  • Review simple to moderately complex book-tax adjustments and tax returns

  • Prepare complex book-tax adjustments and tax returns, perform account analysis, proactively seek policy and procedure improvements that maintain tax-related records and controls

  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of corporate income/franchise tax returns

  • Research tax issues and prepare written analysis and conclusions that embody and model compliance and risk management requirements for supported area

  • Be proficient in accounting and multi-jurisdictional income tax laws, rules and regulations

  • Collect information in response to inquiries from federal and state income tax auditors

  • Provide functional advice and oversight to less experienced staff

  • Collaborate with business partners to collect internal financial or tax data, perform data analysis, test for accuracy, identify and resolve data problems

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Corporate Tax experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

  • Bachelor's Degree as well as a master's degree in Taxation/Accounting

  • Banking/financial services income taxation and consolidated/unitary income tax returns experience

  • 2+ years' experience reviewing simple to moderately complex US federal and state income tax returns

  • Substantial experience preparing moderately complex to significantly complex US federal and state income tax returns

  • MS Office proficiency; Excel power user with query creation a plus; Alteryx a plus; Oracle General Ledger; Corporate Income Tax filing software

  • Self-starter with strong analytical/tax technical/research skills; internal controls adherence

  • Understanding of US GAAP principles in banking/financial services industry

  • Experience with remote/international/leadership teams and new team development a plus

Job Expectations:

  • HYBRID WORK SCHEDULE: 3 days/week in a location posted herein and 2 days/week remote
