Key responsibilities: Ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines Handle all payroll information questions and requests Provide help with all internal and external audits of payroll Produce reports after compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages Other duties as assigned Enter changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers as part of managing payroll records Review source documents with necessary verification Maintaining employee confidence and protecting payroll operations by keeping information confidential Put together for department heads the circulation of weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports Manage payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information Proper payroll information maintenance by collecting, calculating, and entering data Calculate employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments to establish payroll liabilities Report needed changes after maintaining payroll operations according to established policies and procedures Manage issues related to employee deductions and other liabilities, including reconciling Requirements Less than one year of experience preferred Adeptness in Purchasing Activities Accounts Payable (AP) experience preferred General ledger experience highly desired Demonstrated knowledge of Audited Financial Statements Comprehensive knowledge of payroll Foundational knowledge in Account Balance Human Resources (HR) Administration experience General familiarity with Basic Bookkeeping Practical knowledge of QuickBooks Prior experience using accounting software Expertise with internal controls Understanding of federal and state payroll regulations and requirements Proficient knowledge of basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen Meet and uphold Certified Payroll detail oriented criteria Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail Capable of managing high volume multi-state payroll, billing, licensing, AP, etc. Data entry, document management, file creation and previous records experience required Dependability in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills in particular
