Universal Health Services Nursing Supervisor (RN) in WEST COLUMBIA, South Carolina

RN House Supervisor Opportunity

Three Rivers provides psychiatric, detoxification/rehabilitation, and dual diagnosis treatment through inpatient services for adolescents and adults. Our outpatient services include a Partial Hospitalization Program offering psychiatric day treatment for adults and seniors and an Adult Chemical Dependency Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program offering day and evening sessions. Three Rivers Behavioral Health currently has a Nurse House Supervisor Everyother weekend 7am-730pm. This position will also work 3 shifts during the opposite week as a staff RN.

Responsibilities: To provide supervisory coverage of the Nursing Department, other patient care areas and the hospital in general for Night shifts. The Nursing Supervisor duties include provision of managerial and clinical links between the nurse manager and department directors in their absence, and the administrator-on-call. Additionally, this position will include knowledge of Utilization Review rules and regulations as they assist physicians and staff in assigning admission status.

Qualifications

The minimum requirements for this position are:

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of college of nursing. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in nursing. Specialty certification also preferred.

Licensure/Certification: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of South Carolina. BLS/CPI Certification training required (training completed on site, if needed)

Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience preferred

Demonstrates sound leadership skills and utilizes these skills in organizing the activities and schedules for medical and/or non-medical tasks of the unit for a given shift; record of consistently high quality of clinical and interpersonal skills to be an exemplary role model to others; displays basic knowledge of treatment procedures; interventions common to acute psychotic as well as to non-violent crises intervention practice; record of consistently high quality of clinical and interpersonal skills to be a role model to others; basic knowledge of abnormal psychology; application of this knowledge to nursing care; basic knowledge of medical terminology; thorough familiarity of psychopharmacy and the use of psychotropic medications; basic teaching and training skills helpful; problem-solving; organizational and time-management; crisis intervention skills; written and oral communication skills
