Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Assembler to join our assembly department. The successful candidate will be responsible for reading blueprints and assembling parts according to specifications. The parts vary in size from 1 foot to as large as a railroad car. This role requires a general understanding of assembly processes and the ability to read wiring diagrams. The position involves creating many different custom parts due to client orders, rather than mass-producing the same part. Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities are crucial.
Responsibilities
Read and interpret blueprints to assemble parts according to specifications.
Assemble parts ranging in size from 1 foot to as large as a railroad car.
Understand and apply wiring diagrams during assembly.
Create custom parts based on client orders.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues during the assembly process.
Essential Skills
Experience with mechanical assembly and hand tools.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and wiring diagrams.
Ability to use measuring tools such as calipers, measuring tape, and rulers.
Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
At least 1 year of experience in assembly and blueprint reading.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred but not required.
Willingness to collaborate with team members and troubleshoot issues.

Work Environment
This role is based in a production/manufacturing facility that is not climate-controlled. The dress code includes steel-toed shoes, a hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, long pants, and a professional shirt (no sleeveless shirts). The team operates in a large, diverse, and close-knit setting. The shifts are split between 1st and 2nd, with more assemblers needed on the 2nd shift. 1st shift hours are 6:00am-2:00pm, and 2nd shift hours are 2:00pm-10:00pm, Monday through Saturday. Candidates must be willing and able to stay up to 2 hours past the official shift end time, with potential voluntary work on Sundays.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Columbia, South Carolina.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00
