Weston is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with HVAC experience for new facilities and renovation of existing facilities. We are looking for a mechanical engineer who has experience calculating heating and cooling loads, balancing systems, determining effective heating and cooling solutions, sizing and selecting equipment and duct work, designing, procuring, and constructing HVAC systems. Location: The preferred location for this position is our West Chester, PA office but we will consider candidates living near our other offices or in remote locations.

Employment Type: Part-time or Temporary Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program, plus a minimum of 6 to10 years related experience. Professional Engineer licensure required with active NCEES account to secure additional licenses quickly and efficiently. Ability to obtain secret security clearance during employment or a current secret security clearance is required. Maintains a valid driver's license and is able to travel. Willing to travel (20% - 40% of the work year) as required to meet proposal and project needs. Experience preparing commercial designs for competive procurement including preparing construction documents (drawings, specifications, Basis of Design), preparing material take-offs, procuring contractors including issuing requests for bids, evaluating bids, and performing services during construction (RFIs, submittal reviews, field construction site visits). Design-build experience is a plus. Experience with mechanical building systems designs including office space, utility plants, electrical rooms, communications, and server rooms. Experience with water and wastewater treatment facilities is a plus. Experience working with National, state, and local codes and standards. Experience with Federal USGS and UFC is a plus. Experience in managing small to medium design and or construction projects, including supervising and directing project teams and subcontractors. Experience with fire protection, life safety code analysis, plumbing, boiler sizing and control, renewable energy, energy conservation,BIM, and LEED are a plus. Active member of professional organization suited to specific practice area is a plus. Working knowledge of the procedures which are necessary to execute a sound and efficient project, with the ultimate goal of developing good project management techniques. Knowledge or experience with PLC-based control systems/instrumentation, wireless RF communications, network infrastructure and design, advanced metering, and SmartGrid are a plus. Able to meet time sensitive deadlines and carry out multiple priorities simultaneously. Proficient with Microsoft Office software. Able to complete requests for proposals, develop scopes of work (RFP) and obtain vendor quotes. Effective oral and communication skills to review report writing, proposal preparation, and engineering/construction cost estimates. Work effectively in a team environment to lead or support other engineering disciplines (e.g., process, structural, mechanical, civil, etc.) and CADD operators to achieve project requirements. Responsibilities: Provide field QA/QC and oversight services for construction projects (job focus will be the technical execution of various rojects related to mechanical system design, bidding, and construction). Perform the design development and assist in providing technical direction to the scope of projects; providing senior-level technical expertise on all project aspects associated with conceptual engineering, detailed engineering designs, and preparation of contracts for construction. Prepare detailed design drawings and specifications, respond to RFIs, and conduct shop drawing reviews. Review and perform various engineering related calculations and analyses of information in the application of the basic design criteria in conformance with Weston's Engineering Quality Management Plan and as necessary to complete assigned projects. Collaborates with engineers, CAD technicians, field technicians, designers, and other team personnel to complete projects efficiently and accurately. Assists the Project Manager in estimating and tracking project costs. Leads proposal preparation efforts and development of project costs. Participates in professional societies and other similar organizations. Interacts with clients regarding project specific tasks.

Salary Range: $80,800 - $107,800 - $134,700
