Role Summary

The Module Leader will report to the Design Manager for the US based Regional and Business Aviation Lifecycle Engineering team in Cincinnati, OH. They will be responsible for the mechanical design and system integration of the License Required Hot Sections on all CF34 engine models. This is an experienced role with a focus on lifecycle leadership of hot section hardware.

Essential Responsibilities

As a Module Leader, you will:

  • Integrate systems, design, fleet, and supply chain teams to lead field issue resolution, resolve production challenges, and deliver services profitability.

  • Execute the mechanical design, analysis, and evaluation of turbine hardware.

  • Utilize technical experience and analytical thinking to improve the quality of General Electric’s products.

  • Have in-depth knowledge of best practices and apply them in hardware design and integrate with adjacent hardware and the engine system.

  • Maintain and advance awareness of the competitive landscape and the factors that differentiate your technology area.

  • Work closely with internal and external manufacturing organizations to deliver hardware for production turbines.

  • Act as a resource to the team, providing technical guidance and mentoring to colleagues.

  • Lead efforts to solve both technical and schedule related problems.

  • Present work to subject matter experts and program leaders at technical reviews.

  • Participate in technical reviews as a reviewer.

  • Ensure work is thoroughly documented.

  • Interface with a global engineering team.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Aeronautical Engineering from an accredited college or university

  • At least 5 additional years of experience in an aerospace or mechanical engineering position.

Desired Characteristics

  • Self-starter with an eye constantly on problem solving and driving solutions.

  • Experience in the design, analysis, manufacture or testing of mechanical components.

  • Turbomachinery design experience.

  • High pressure turbine flowpath hardware design experience.

  • Experience leading and collaborating with global teams.

  • Experience approving non-conforming approval at hardware or system level.

  • Outstanding mentoring skills and a strong desire to help others succeed.

  • Flexible, friendly, and collaborative approach to working in teams.

  • Proven facilitation and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels of the organization.

  • Uncompromising desire to ensure the safety of the travelling public as well as that of fellow employees.

  • Keen listener and innate drive to succeed.
