Robert Half International Director of Accounts Receivable/Credit in West Caldwell, New Jersey


A growing company in the West Caldwell area is seeking a Director of Accounts Receivable & Credit to join their team. This Director of Accounts Receivable & Credit will report into the Vice President of Finance regarding all Accounts Receivable Management for several of the company’s business units. This Director of Accounts Receivable & Credit will also be responsible for protecting the corporation’s largest asset, preventing losses and promoting company growth by providing business consultation with clients. The ideal Director of Accounts Receivable & Credit will have prior manufacturing experience and will have 5+ years in management.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Enforcing adherence to corporate objectives regarding delinquency performance, bad debt allowances, and DSO targets

  • Establishing all credit policies and procedures

  • Negotiating/establishing financial support programs used to support customers both domestically and internationally

  • Establishing automated and electronic collection vehicles including credit card operations, automatic debit processes, ACH, bank wiring and cash application processes

  • Directing credit investigation

  • Analyzing customer financial statements, establish new accounts and credit limits

  • Negotiating third party financing contracts, credit investigation contracts, and inter-creditor agreements

  • Prospecting new and existing accounts

  • Creating payment schedules, letters of credit, and credit line control

  • Preparing monthly and annual reports for all Corporate AR performance

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, and/or Economics

  • 10+ years of credit and collections experience

  • 5+ years of management experience

  • Knowledge of Financial Statement Analysis and Risk Assessment

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
