Job Description
Responsible for aspects of the Southeastern Community College Cheerleading program include selection of a try-out committee, coordinating and supervising practices, coordinating and facilitating fundraising activities, overseeing travel, budget, and participation of cheerleading squad in SCC athletic events and public appearances.
This position is a part-time position with an annual stipend of $10,000.
The position does not qualify for SCC benefits, other than participation in IPERS or TIAA retirement Plan.
The Head Cheerleading Coach will abide by the employment contract and relevant policies and guidelines of the Board of Trustees.
Essential Duties Summary
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Supervise SCC cheerleaders during practices, games, travel, and in general, throughout entire enrollment at SCC (including academic and non- SCC -sponsored activities).
Work with cheerleaders to coordinate routines for all SCC athletic and/or public events.
Coordinate practices, recruitments, fundraising, and monitoring of student-athletes
(academic and behavior).Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written.
Ability and willingness to work cooperatively with all SCC employees, with all SCC athletic programs, and to assist the athletic department in general as needed.
Ability to coordinate cheerleading program to effectively prepare for SCC game events and/or public appearances.
Education: Associates of Arts Degree preferred
Experience: Prior experience in coaching cheerleading or any other activities related (dance, gymnastics, etc).
The Cheerleading Coach must have the ability to actively promote a positive image for the college district.

Physical Demands
The Head Cheerleading Coach must have the ability and mobility to serve a rural area; travel is required. Individual must be able to work on a basis of “available as work demands” in addition to a fixed schedule. In addition, the individual in this position will actively promote a positive image for the college district.
