We are looking for a Sustainability Solutions Sr. Project Manager . This position will be based in Wendell, NC.

As a Sustainability Solutions Sr. Project Manager , you play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between technology and business. Your responsibilities encompass project management expertise, coordination with department team members and external partners.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Project Management Expertise:

  • Supports the Sustainability Solutions Manager with responsibility on project results including budget, financial management of risks, opportunities, claims, scheduling and EHS; acts as owner of his/her project.

  • Provides direct leadership for the site project team (i.e. project performance reviews, coaching, development, and training) of matrix organization.

  • Progress reporting to Sustainability Solutions Manager. Acts as advisor to support reporting to management.

  • Develops and considers strategic targets for project site in line with responsible Sustainability Solutions Manager.

  • Supports the Sustainability Solutions Manager to represent the project site in the relevant decision boards internally and externally.

  • Work with the project team to develop a project plan that supports customer requirements and project milestones.

  • Work with the project team to develop a procurement plan to support timely initiation of site subcontractors to support schedule.

  • Oversee project logistics plan to assure all equipment and materials arrive on site to support construction.

  • Review project engineering to support constructability and local capability and material availability

  • Agrees targets and work packages with project team and delegates defined work packages.

  • Holds and seeks feedback pro-actively (e.g. team members, managers, customers).

  • Demonstrates leadership to functionally assigned intercultural staff.

  • Facilitates and monitors effective team collaboration also in virtual environment.

  • Regularly performs lessons learned activities and feeds the results into own project and organization Ensures proper ramp-up and execution on site.

  • Develops action plans and handles relevant planning elements and work results.

  • Work with Scheduler to Monitor Project Schedules and do regular periodic assessment of the complete project, for keeping the project within targets with respect to time, cost, quality, and system performance.

  • Holds regular project site status meetings and organizes acceptance of work results.

  • Manage and oversee contractors on site to comply with Siemens safety program requirements.

  • Oversee site contractors to initiate and implement construction to comply with engineering specifications, on time and within budget.

  • Work with subcontractors to identify non-conformance and minimize cost

  • Oversee site commissioning personnel to safely, commission equipment on time and within budget.

  • Manage compliance to the requirements of local authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ’s).

  • Documents all work results according to the valid standards.

  • Manages site acceptance (tests), commissioning and final project handover/closure in a timely manner.

  • Support periodic review of Project cash flow & financial review sheets (cost monitoring).

  • Supports regular financial controlling and reporting along the complete project lifespan.

  • Identifies non-conformances and takes measures to minimize the impact.

  • Supports project risk assessments to appropriately reflected in project calculation.

  • Fosters change order approach consequently with adequate margin contribution.

  • Support the OM, leading the coordinated project communication with customer.

  • Work with the OM to conduct stakeholder analysis and manage efficient communication with relevant stakeholders (e.g. customers, partners, suppliers, authorities).

  • Monitor and respond to implementation-related issues and work with clients to improve client satisfaction when escalated.

  • Actively manages and solves conflicts.

  • Drives intercultural communication and collaboration.

  • Selects and involves partners/subcontractors based on project needs.

  • Involves procurement at an early stage and other relevant stakeholders (e.g. legal, compliance, EHS).

  • Follows the relevant LoA process as designated Project Manager.

  • Assesses and manages contracts including supplier contracts.

  • Negotiates with stakeholders on change requests and incorporates them into contracts.

  • At an early stage, identifies claim potential and works on mitigation/avoidance strategies.

  • Ensures monitoring and management of risks and opportunities.

  • Devises suitable strategies for risk mitigation and ensures the implementation of the risk mitigating measures. Sets necessary measures to ensure zero harm policy in environment, health and safety.

  • Involves the necessary corporate governance units.

  • Complies to local standards and law of countries directly affected.

  • Ensures the overall quality of works, products, and deliverables

  • Quality Assurance: Ensure solutions meet quality standards, scalability, and performance requirements.

  • Emerging Technologies: Stay abreast of industry trends and evaluate their impact on designs.

  • Knowledge area Industry knowledge and application turkey construction projects involving sustainable energy systems using photovoltaic, battery energy storage, fuel cells, and electrical vehicle technologies,

  • Customer Engagement:

  • Pre-Sales Support: Collaborate with project development and offer teams during pre-sales activities, including solution presentations and discussions.

  • Post-Sales: Ensure successful project implementation and turnover to service teams.

  • Stakeholder Communication:

  • Executive Reporting: Provide updates to senior management on sustainability solution initiatives, progress, and challenges.

  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to solution delivery.

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of experience and education.

  • Experience: 10-15+ years of experience in a similar role in project management. Preferred experience with turnkey construction projects in photovoltaic, energy storage or technology combination applications. Must have PMP certification.

  • Leadership Skills: Proven leadership, communication, and decision-making abilities.

  • Software Application Knowledge : SieOps (salesforce); Autodesk suite, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, MS Teams, Microsoft Dynamics

  • Business Acumen: Ability to align technical solutions with business goals.

  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and market trends. Knowledge of NEC, IBC, IFC codes and applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Siemens best practices and PM@Siemens certification

  • Preferred experience with turnkey construction projects (capex or structured financed) implemented with Photovoltaic Systems, Battery Energy Storage, Engine-generator sets, fuel cells, linear generators, electrical vehicle charging, microgrid control systems, 3rd party automation systems, utility interconnection process, and system asset management.

  • Project management in the Civil works, Electrical and General contractor space

  • Strong Administration and time management skills.

  • Advanced interpersonal skills

  • Ability to lead virtual project team/s to a successful implementation across countries.

  • Must be willing to travel. Hands-on experience with MS project on large scale turnkey projects

  • Experienced in multiple suppliers and subcontractor handling.

  • The pay range for this position is $105,910 - $181,560 and the annual incentive target is 15% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
