Job Summary and Qualifications

• The Director is responsible for the patient population and assigned staff, must organize, direct, coordinate, and evaluate the unit activities and staff members.

• The Director provides direction, support and guidance to the department staff and aids in their development both clinically and managerially.

• Must demonstrate excellent public interpersonal communication skills.

• Twenty-four hour accountability.

What qualifications you will need:

Education:

• Graduate of a School of Professional Nursing.

Licenses/Certificates:

• Current Registered Nurse license with the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners or compact license.

• Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BCLS within one week of hire date.

• Current Advanced Cardiac Support (ACLS) within 30 days.

• Current card for successful completion of Neonatal Resuscitation provider and instructor.

• Completion of Advanced Fetal Monitoring within one year and then repeated at least every two years.

• Certification in Inpatient Obstetrics and Fetal Monitoring within one year of employment date.

Experience:

• Five years’ experience in Labor and Delivery, Post-Partum, and/or Nursery experience, including two years as a Charge Nurse or similar supervisory.

• Evidence of excellent interpersonal skills, experience in quality improvement, self directed, excellent time management and problem-solving skills.

Medical City Weatherford is a 100+ bed acute-care hospital. We serve Parker County and surrounding communities. Our medical staff represents 30+ medical specialties.
